This guide outlines the essential steps for preparing for and conducting a new patient's first appointment. The primary goal is to ensure a smooth, comprehensive, and positive experience, laying the groundwork for ongoing care.
Bring a Support Person

Heart health involves your whole support system, and we want you to feel informed and supported throughout your visit.
Arrive Early

We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes before your scheduled time so you can:

Complete new patient paperwork

Ensure we’ve received prior test results or medical records

Update insurance or personal information

Settle in without feeling rushed

A typical first cardiology visit lasts around 40 minutes.
What Information Your Cardiologist Will Ask
To help us understand your heart health, please be ready to provide information about the following:
1. Your Symptoms
If you are experiencing symptoms, we will ask:

What triggers or relieves them
2. Personal & Family Medical History
Our team needs a full picture of your health, including:

Current medical conditions

Allergies

Past surgeries or hospitalizations

Medications you take

Family history of heart disease and related conditions
3. Medications
Bring one of the following:

A complete list of all medications (including supplements and over-the-counter drugs)

All medication bottles/containers
